Part-Time Police Communications Specialist

The Hampton Police Department is seeking several qualified individuals for the position of Part-Time Police Communications Specialist (Dispatcher).  The Community of Hampton is a tourist destination located along the beautiful New Hampshire Seacoast.  Our Agency serves a Full-time population of 15,000 that swells during our busier summer months.  We are seeking highly motivated individuals to join our team consisting of 9 Civilians in support of 35 Full-Time and 70 Part-Time Sworn Officers.  Our Emergency Communications Center is located within the Police Station at Hampton Beach.

Our Communications Center is a 24 hour operation that is fast-paced and multi-function.  Successful candidates should have strong communications skills, the ability to analyze situations quickly and objectively while under pressure, basic phone skills, radio and computer skills.  Applicants with second language skills are highly desirable.  Online Employment Application

Part-time Dispatchers primarily work a regular schedule during our busy summer months.  Our summer schedule runs from June-September.  They are eligiible to work during the off season to cover, vacation, sick and training days.

  • Minimum Requirement:
    At least 18 Years of Age
    High School Diploma, or Equivalent
    Valid Drivers License

    Oral Board (Oral Board Dates TBD)
    Polygraph Exam
    Drug and Alcohol Screen
    Background Investigation

Salary and Benefits: Starting pay $15.00 hour.
